How Full is Your Boat? - Mission Aurora
One of the biggest tragedies of the sinking of the Titanic is that the lifeboats were only half full when it sank so hundreds of people died needlessly. A report in the New York Times in 1912 said that many people didn’t take the situation seriously, so they didn’t do all they could to fill the lifeboats. They thought it was a drill. They didn’t think they were really sinking. It’s no different with our health now.
Just open your eyes and read the headlines, visit a nursing home or call 3 people in your family and you’ll see that we are really sinking:
• 1 out of 4 women over the age of 30 is on psychotropic drugs for depression
• 1 out of 3 kids born in the year 2000 will develop diabetes
• The average age of depression 50 years ago was 30, now it’s 14
• Parker Adventist hospital is building a $70 million expansion to do more back surgeries that could have been almost entirely prevented and have a 74% failure rate
• The number of US Cancer cases expected to rise 55% by 2030
Meanwhile, less than 4% of the population sees a chiropractor on any level in the U.S. and far less than 1% engage in the Maximized Living lifestyle. Know this- if those people were living the 5 Essentials, those statistics would be reversed. People in this office are getting off of drugs, reversing and preventing diabetes and cancer proofing their bodies through the principles they learn and apply.
In other words, 99% of the people that you know and love don’t “get it” and are sprinting towards the nursing home or early grave. They have bought into the lie that health comes from a pill bottle. Being one of the 1% makes you special. You know the truth about health and healing and how to get it. Doesn’t that give you a moral and ethical obligation to tell others who don’t know?
Please hear me on this- WE ARE REALLY SINKING!!! This is not a drill. This is not a game. People are dying at an alarming rate. I see it every day. However, the biggest tragedy isn’t the people that die, but the people that never really live. Your lifeboat is half full at best. There are people all around you drowning and you have the opportunity and responsibility to save them. We are making it easy to do it next week. See the front desk for your Doctors with a Heart flyers and Mission Aurora contest sheets. We (and they) need your help. Let’s fill up the boats… God Bless, Dr. Eric
