Winning Your Race
One of my favorite quotes is from the late Jack Kemp- “Winning is like shaving - you do it every day or you wind up looking like a bum.” So as we start the 28 Day Biggest Loser Challenge, I want to give you some keys to winning. Whether your goal is to lose 10 pounds, get healthy so you can ditch your drugs or be a healthy example to your kids, remember 3 things:
1. Remember Who You Are. In Psalm 139, David says “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” Your body was designed to be a miraculous health producing machine. All you have to do is cooperate with its design. Act on what you know and the results are guaranteed. Also, remember that you are an over-comer. You are not a victim of bad luck or bad genes. You are in control of your future and you are fearfully and wonderfully made. You CAN do anything you set your mind to.
2. Remember Why You Are Playing the Game. Think about your Big Why. If you have a big enough WHY, you will figure out the HOW. When you encounter resistance to your new way of eating or exercising (and you will), remember that it’s not supposed to be comfortable. Creating new habits and breaking old ones is a by nature an uncomfortable process, but that’s where the magic happens. Get uncomfortable!
3. Remember To Help Someone. There is a whole country full of people around you that are literally dying to know what you know. There are more kids on drugs, moms that are depressed and dad’s that are dying 30 years too early than ever before because they don’t know there is a better way. They’ve bought the lie that health lies outside of their control and they just have to live with their diseases. They are most likely the people closest to you. You used to be one of those people swimming in the shark infested waters of the U.S. healthcare system. I heard a great quote recently- “Rescued people rescue radically.” When you rescue someone else, you not only help them, but your chances of winning your own race go up dramatically. Throw someone a rope today.
Added bonus: Dr. Eric’s Chocolate Peanut Butter Power Smoothie. You can use as breakfast, snack or any meal replacement if you’re in a hurry. In a blender add 1 cup unsweetened almond milk, 1 TBSP peanut butter, 1 scoop chocolate ML Perfect Protein powder, 1 cup of ice. Blend and enjoy the great choice you made. Remember who you are and expect miracles…
